What we have outlined so far in this chapter and elsewhere in the book are approaches that construct studentcentred learning within the institution, although such approaches do not necessarily preclude links to the outside world (such as when students may visit experts in the context of PBL). But there are student-centred learning approaches that have an explicitly external focus. We shall give two examples of these here.
